Health care is the
hottest campaign topic and will be for years to come.
The principals at OSS have been on the forefront of health care reform,
working the issue as legislative staff in Oregon's 2007 session. OSS
crafted and implemented the lobbying strategy to pass the Healthy Oregon
Act that will lower costs, improve quality and provide access to to
every Oregon citizen.
During
Oregon's 2007 legislative session, OSS built
HopeForAHealthyOregon.com as a resource for the
proponents of Senate Bill 329, the Healthy Oregon Act.
Legislators, stakeholders, and the media were all able to refer
people to the site for information.
The site was
designed to cater to stakeholders and provide precise
information to each of four groups: businesses, families and
individuals, senior citizens, and health care providers.
During the
legislative session, OneSource managed a statewide outreach
tour, reaching fifteen cities in March and involving twenty-four
legislators. In addition to managing logistics and
materials,
OneSource handled earned media as well.
At the same
time, literature was created to not only explain the measure but
also answer the most pressing questions. Materials were
presented to every legislator.
